CISCE Board Results 2026: A Year-on-Year Comparison of Pass Percentages

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has officially released the results for both Class 10 (ICSE) and Class 12 (ISC) for the year 2026. Students can now access their scores by logging in with their roll numbers and other credentials on the official portal. This year’s outcomes reflect a noticeable improvement over the previous academic cycle, with pass percentages showing a healthy upward trend across both examinations.

Improved Performance Across the Board

When looking at the numbers, the progress is evident. In 2025, the ICSE (Class 10) pass rate stood at a commendable 99.09%, while the ISC (Class 12) recorded 99.02%. Fast forward to 2026, and those figures have climbed further. The ICSE pass percentage has risen to 99.18%, and the ISC has reached 99.13%. While the increments may appear modest on paper, they represent thousands of additional students successfully clearing their board examinations this year.

Here is a quick breakdown of the year-on-year comparison:

  • ICSE (Class 10): 99.09% in 2025 → 99.18% in 2026
  • ISC (Class 12): 99.02% in 2025 → 99.13% in 2026

These figures underscore a consistent upward trajectory in student achievement, signaling that both teaching methodologies and student preparation strategies are yielding positive results.

Girls Continue to Outperform Boys

Gender-wise performance trends remain consistent with previous years, with female students once again taking the lead. In the ISC examinations, the overall pass percentage reached 99.66%. Breaking this down further, out of 1,702 girls who appeared for the exam, 1,697 successfully passed. Among boys, 1,838 out of 1,845 cleared the examination. This continues the pattern seen in 2025, where girls outperformed boys by a noticeable margin.

Last year, the ISC pass rate for boys was 98.64%, whereas girls achieved an impressive 99.45%. The overall tally in 2025 saw 98,578 out of 99,551 students passing, bringing the total pass percentage to 99.02%. Similarly, in the ICSE examinations last year, girls recorded a 99.37% pass rate compared to 98.84% for boys, with the overall pass percentage settling at 99.09%.

Delhi-NCR Region Shows Strong Growth

The Delhi-NCR region has emerged as a standout performer this year, with both ICSE and ISC results showing significant improvement. For the ICSE examinations, 55 schools participated, with a total of 6,400 students appearing. Of these, 3,457 out of 3,467 boys and 2,929 out of 2,933 girls successfully passed, resulting in an impressive pass percentage of 99.78%. This marks a growth of 0.07% compared to the previous year.

The ISC results from the region are equally encouraging. Across 45 schools, 3,547 students appeared for the examinations. The pass percentage stood at 99.66%, with 1,838 out of 1,845 boys and 1,697 out of 1,702 girls clearing the exams. This represents a substantial increase of 0.25% over last year’s figures, making it one of the most improved regions in the country.

What These Numbers Mean for Students and Educators

The steady rise in pass percentages reflects not only the dedication of students but also the evolving support systems within schools. With results consistently hovering above the 99% mark, the focus now shifts toward helping students achieve distinction grades and improving overall academic excellence rather than merely passing.

For students who have cleared their examinations, the next steps involve document verification, college admissions, and career planning. Those who may not have achieved their desired results should remember that board examinations are just one milestone in a longer academic journey. Multiple opportunities for improvement and alternative pathways remain available.

The CISCE’s commitment to transparent and timely result declarations continues to be appreciated by students, parents, and educational institutions alike. As the academic year progresses, all eyes will now turn to the upcoming admission cycles and how these results shape the future trajectories of the students.
