CISCE 2026 Board Results Announced: Girls Lead Across Classes 10 and 12

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) released the much-awaited results for both Class 10 (ICSE) and Class 12 (ISC) on Thursday, revealing an impressive overall performance. This year, female students have once again demonstrated academic excellence, outperforming their male counterparts in both examinations.

Overall Pass Percentages

The combined pass rate for the ICSE (Class 10) examination stood at a remarkable 99.18 percent, while the ISC (Class 12) examination recorded a slightly lower yet still impressive pass rate of 99.13 percent. These figures reflect the continued high standards of the board and the dedication of students across the country.

Candidate Statistics and Gender Performance

A total of 2,58,721 candidates registered for the ICSE examination this year, whereas approximately 1,03,316 students appeared for the ISC examination. The gender-wise breakdown highlights a clear trend of female students taking the lead:

  • In ICSE, the pass percentage for girls was 99.46 percent, compared to 98.93 percent for boys.
  • In ISC, girls achieved a pass rate of 99.48 percent, while boys recorded 98.81 percent.

Detailed Results Breakdown

Looking at the raw numbers, 2,56,590 candidates successfully cleared the Class 10 examination, leaving only 2,131 students unsuccessful. For Class 12, 1,02,414 candidates passed, with just 902 students failing to clear the exams.

Category-Wise Performance

The results also reveal interesting patterns when analyzed by social categories. For the ICSE examination, students from the General category achieved the highest pass rate at 99.26 percent. This was followed by Other Backward Classes (OBC) at 99.24 percent, Scheduled Castes (SC) at 98.76 percent, and Scheduled Tribes (ST) at 98.07 percent.

In the ISC examination, the General category again led with a pass percentage of 99.17 percent. OBC students followed closely at 99.12 percent, while Scheduled Tribes recorded 98.84 percent and Scheduled Castes posted 98.77 percent.

Examination Scope

The CISCE conducted examinations across a wide range of subjects this year. A total of 67 subjects were offered in the ICSE examination, while the ISC examination covered 45 subjects, providing students with diverse academic options and pathways for their future studies.

These results underscore the consistency and academic rigor maintained by the CISCE board. The strong performance of female students, in particular, highlights a positive shift in educational outcomes and serves as an encouraging indicator for the future of secondary education in India. Students and parents alike can now look forward to the next phase of academic and professional journeys with confidence.
