Delhi University Opens PG Admissions for 2026-27 Academic Session

Delhi University has officially launched the admission process for postgraduate programs for the 2026-27 academic year. The university began accepting applications on Saturday for more than 13,000 seats spread across approximately 82 PG courses. Candidates interested in two-year postgraduate programs can submit their applications online until June 7 at 11:59 PM.

Along with the application, aspirants will need to select their preferred colleges and departments through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS). This centralized process ensures a streamlined and transparent seat distribution mechanism for all applicants.

Admission Based on CUET PG Scores

The university has confirmed that admissions to PG programs will be determined solely by scores obtained in CUET PG-2026. Seat allocation will be conducted exclusively through the CSAS portal, and applicants must provide their CUET PG application number during the registration process. Candidates can apply for various courses through the university’s dedicated admission portal.

This year, under the New Education Policy, the university will offer both one-year and two-year postgraduate programs. While the application process for two-year courses has now begun, applications for one-year PG programs will be invited separately on a different portal at a later stage.

Eligibility for Final-Year Undergraduate Students

Students currently enrolled in the third or fourth year of their undergraduate studies are also eligible to apply for two-year PG programs. However, they must meet the specific eligibility criteria prescribed for their chosen course. This provision allows final-year students to secure their postgraduate seats well in advance.

Application Fee Structure

The application fee has been set at different rates depending on the candidate’s category. Applicants from the General, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), and EWS categories will be required to pay ₹250 per program. Meanwhile, candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Persons with Disabilities categories will pay a reduced fee of ₹100 per program.

Enhanced Security with DigiLocker Integration

To make the application process more secure and user-friendly, the university has introduced DigiLocker-API Setu integration this year. This feature automatically syncs candidates’ personal information and CUET scores, significantly reducing the chances of duplicate data entries. The integration also enhances the overall transparency of the admission procedure.

Separate Process for One-Year PG Programs

According to university officials, the application window for one-year postgraduate programs will open shortly. These programs are exclusively designed for students who have completed a four-year undergraduate degree with honors, including research or entrepreneurship components, or those who have finished a four-year bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject.

The university has advised all prospective students to regularly check the admission portal for the latest updates and announcements regarding the admission schedule, eligibility requirements, and other important information.

With the introduction of digital verification and centralized seat allocation, Delhi University aims to simplify the admission journey for thousands of postgraduate aspirants this year. Candidates are encouraged to complete their applications well before the deadline to avoid any last-minute technical difficulties.
