CUET UG 2026: Admit Cards Released for June 6–7 Exams, Retest Announced for Affected Students

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the admit cards for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) Undergraduate (UG) examinations scheduled for June 6 and June 7, 2026. Candidates who have registered for these exam dates can now visit the official website to download their hall tickets and verify their assigned test centers.

In a parallel development, the testing authority has also confirmed that a retest will be conducted for a specific group of candidates. This decision comes in response to a technical disruption that occurred during the May 30 examination session, which left thousands of students unable to complete their tests under normal conditions.

Technical Glitch Disrupts May 30 Exam Session

According to official reports, the examination scheduled for May 30, 2026, experienced a significant delay in commencement due to technical difficulties. As a result, approximately 3,765 candidates who had arrived at their designated exam centers were unable to wait for the issue to be resolved. These students ultimately left their centers without appearing for the examination.

Recognizing the gravity of the situation and the impact on these candidates, the NTA has decided to offer a one-time special accommodation. Affected students will now have the opportunity to sit for a fresh examination, ensuring that their chances of securing admission to participating universities are not compromised due to circumstances beyond their control.

Eligibility Criteria for the Retest

The NTA has established clear parameters to determine which candidates qualify for the retest opportunity. Only those individuals who meet all of the following conditions will be considered eligible:

  • Candidates who were physically present at their assigned examination center on May 30, 2026.
  • Individuals whose biometric registration process had been completed successfully before the disruption.
  • Students who were unable to attempt the examination specifically because of the technical malfunction that occurred during that session.

For those who satisfy these requirements, a separate examination date will be arranged. The NTA has assured that all eligible candidates will be notified through appropriate channels regarding the schedule and other relevant details of the retest.

Troubleshooting Admit Card Download Issues

In the event that a candidate encounters any difficulty while attempting to download their admit card, or if they notice any discrepancy or error in the information displayed on the hall ticket, immediate action is recommended. The NTA has established a dedicated support system to address such concerns.

Candidates can reach out to the NTA help desk directly for assistance. The helpline is operational at the designated contact number. Additionally, queries may also be directed through the official communication channels listed on the examination agency’s website. It is advisable to resolve any issues well in advance of the examination date to avoid last-minute complications.

Mandatory Documents for Exam Day

The NTA has issued clear instructions regarding the documentation that candidates must carry to the examination center. Every student is required to present the same photo identification document that was declared during the application process and which is reflected on the admit card. The name and other details on the ID must match exactly with the information on the hall ticket.

Furthermore, certain candidates will be required to carry additional documentation. Specifically, those whose live photograph did not match the data available in the Aadhaar database, or those who used an alternative identification document during the application phase, must bring original supporting certificates for verification purposes.

These certificates must bear the signature of an authorized individual. Acceptable authorities include the principal or headmaster of the candidate’s school, a Class-1 gazetted officer such as a Tehsildar, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), District Magistrate (DM), or an authorized official from an Indian embassy or consulate.

Important Guidance for Candidates

The NTA has strongly advised all candidates to plan their travel to the examination center with sufficient buffer time. Arriving well ahead of the reporting time is essential to complete the necessary entry formalities, including identity verification and biometric checks, without undue stress.

It is imperative to note that entry to the examination hall will be strictly denied to any individual who fails to present both the admit card and a valid photo identification document. Candidates are urged to double-check their belongings before leaving home and ensure that all required items are readily accessible.

Step-by-Step Process to Download Admit Card

Obtaining the CUET UG admit card is a straightforward process. Candidates can follow the simple steps outlined below to access and print their hall tickets:

  • Navigate to the official CUET UG website using a web browser on a desktop, laptop, or mobile device.
  • On the homepage, locate and click on the link labeled for the CUET UG 2026 admit card.
  • Enter the required login credentials, including the application number and date of birth or password, as applicable.
  • Click on the submit button to proceed with the request.
  • Once the admit card loads on the screen, carefully review all the printed details for accuracy.
  • Download the file and take multiple printouts for safekeeping.

Candidates are encouraged to retain at least one printed copy of the admit card in a safe place and carry another copy to the examination center on the day of the test. Keeping a digital copy accessible on a mobile device is also recommended as a backup, although the physical copy remains the primary requirement for entry.
