CUET UG 2026 Results Announced: Top Score Reaches 1232.19 Across Five Subjects

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the results and scorecards for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for undergraduate programs. Candidates who appeared for the examination can now access their scores through the official portal. The announcement was made on 23 June 2026, marking a significant milestone for over a million aspirants seeking admission to participating universities across the country.

The examination was conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode, spanning from 11 May to 31 May 2026, with select papers held on 6 and 7 June. In a notable achievement, the NTA declared the results within just 16 days of the final examination date—a remarkable improvement of 14 days compared to the previous year’s timeline.

Impressive Percentile Achievements

This year’s results showcased exceptional performances from several candidates. A total of 3,214 students secured a perfect 100 percentile in at least one subject. The distribution of top performers includes:

  • One candidate achieved a perfect 100 percentile across four subjects
  • 22 students scored a flawless 100 percentile in three subjects
  • 180 candidates attained 100 percentile in two subjects
  • 3,214 students reached the perfect score mark in a single subject

The highest aggregate score recorded across five subjects stood at an impressive 1232.19. Several candidates achieved perfect or near-perfect scores of up to 250 in subjects such as Accountancy, History, Psychology, and Odia, demonstrating outstanding academic preparation and subject mastery.

Record Participation and Registration Growth

This year witnessed a substantial increase in candidate participation. A total of 15,68,867 unique candidates registered for the CUET UG examination, out of which 11,64,098 actually appeared for the test. This marks a significant growth of over 15 percent in registered candidates compared to the 2025 cycle, reflecting the examination’s growing importance in the higher education admission landscape.

Notably, the number of female candidates saw an approximately 20 percent increase this year. This surge has considerably narrowed the gender gap between male and female test-takers, indicating a positive trend toward greater female participation in competitive university admissions.

Extensive Examination Network

The examination was conducted across a vast network of 321 cities, both within the country and internationally. Among these, 13 were international locations, including Abu Dhabi, Doha, Kathmandu, Kuala Lumpur, Kuwait City, Lagos, Manama, Muscat, Riyadh, Sharjah, Singapore, West Java, and Washington. This global reach underscores the examination’s appeal to Indian students studying abroad and international candidates seeking admission to Indian universities.

To accommodate linguistic diversity, the test was offered in 13 languages: Hindi, English, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. This multilingual approach ensures that candidates from various regional backgrounds can attempt the examination in their preferred language.

University Participation and Subject Offerings

The 2026 cycle saw participation from 244 universities, marking an increase from the 241 institutions that took part in the previous year. This expansion provides candidates with a broader range of higher education options and reflects the growing trust in the CUET framework as a standardized admission mechanism.

Candidates were offered a diverse selection of 37 subjects to choose from, comprising 13 languages, 23 domain-specific subjects, and one general aptitude test. Each candidate was permitted to select a maximum of five subjects for the examination. During the testing process, the NTA utilized 332 distinct question papers across 35 shifts, incorporating a total of 18,160 unique questions to ensure fairness and prevent any form of academic dishonesty.

The timely release of results and the comprehensive data provided offer candidates clarity as they proceed with their university applications. With the results now available, successful candidates can look forward to the next phase of the admission process, including counselling and seat allocation across participating institutions nationwide.
