Delhi Startup Youth Festival Kicks Off at NSUT

The Delhi government is accelerating its efforts to foster entrepreneurship, with a renewed focus on empowering young innovators and early-stage ventures. As part of the Delhi Startup Policy 2025, the administration has earmarked ₹325 crore over the next five years, aiming to nurture 5,000 startups by 2035. In line with this vision, the Delhi Startup Youth Festival is being hosted at Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT) in Dwarka, organized through the Directorate of Training and Technical Education (DTTE).

Inauguration and Key Focus

The event will be officially inaugurated by Delhi’s Education Minister, Ashish Sood. The festival is designed to provide a robust platform for student-led and early-stage startups, helping them showcase their ideas and connect with potential investors and mentors. The broader objective is to strengthen Delhi’s campus-to-market startup ecosystem, bridging the gap between academic innovation and commercial reality.

Over 750 Applications Received

According to officials, the festival has attracted significant interest, with more than 750 applications submitted for startup pitching sessions and innovation competitions. This enthusiastic response underscores the growing entrepreneurial spirit among the city’s youth and the increasing viability of startup culture in academic institutions.

What to Expect at the Festival

  • Live startup demonstrations and product showcases
  • Pitching sessions where founders present ideas to investors
  • Mentorship opportunities with industry experts
  • Networking platforms for collaboration and knowledge sharing

The festival marks a significant step in the Delhi government’s long-term strategy to position the capital as a leading hub for innovation and entrepreneurship. By creating direct linkages between students, investors, and seasoned mentors, the initiative aims to accelerate the growth of the startup ecosystem in the region.

With a clear roadmap and substantial financial backing, the government’s focus remains on transforming ideas into viable businesses. Events like this are expected to play a crucial role in cultivating a culture of innovation, ensuring that young entrepreneurs receive the guidance and resources needed to succeed in an increasingly competitive landscape.
