GPAT 2026 Results Announced by NBEMS: Over 5,300 Candidates Qualify

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has officially released the results for the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) 2026. A total of 5,362 candidates have successfully cleared the examination, which was conducted in computer-based mode on March 7 at test centers across the country.

Alongside the results, the board has published the merit rankings, eligibility criteria, and the revised answer key for candidate reference. The GPAT score serves as the gateway for admission to M.Pharm programs, PhD courses, and scholarship opportunities at pharmacy institutions nationwide, in alignment with the guidelines set by the Pharmacy Council of India.

Category-Wise Breakdown of Qualified Candidates

The qualifying candidates have been distributed across various categories, reflecting the implementation of reservation policies. The table below provides a detailed overview of the number of successful candidates in each segment, including those under the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) category.

  • General (Non-EWS): 744 candidates (36 PwBD) — total 780
  • EWS: 947 candidates (12 PwBD) — total 959
  • OBC-NCL (Central List): 2,247 candidates (61 PwBD) — total 2,308
  • SC: 889 candidates (11 PwBD) — total 900
  • ST: 412 candidates (3 PwBD) — total 415

When combined, the overall figures stand at 5,239 non-PwBD candidates and 123 PwBD candidates, bringing the grand total to 5,362 successful examinees.

Minimum Qualifying Criteria for GPAT 2026

Candidates were required to secure a minimum percentile score to be deemed qualified in GPAT 2026. The thresholds vary depending on the category of the candidate, ensuring a standardized yet equitable evaluation process.

  • General and EWS categories: Minimum 50th percentile
  • OBC, SC, and ST categories: Minimum 45th percentile
  • PwBD candidates (all categories): Minimum 45th percentile

Beyond the percentile requirement, candidates also needed to feature in the merit list. This necessitated ranking within the top 10% of all appeared candidates — approximately within the top 5,362 positions out of 53,617 total test-takers. The selection process adheres strictly to the government’s reservation framework.
