Haryana Board Declares Class 10 Results; Pass Rate Slips to 89.60%

The Haryana Board of School Education has officially released the Class 10 examination results for 2026. This year, the overall pass percentage stands at 89.60%, reflecting a noticeable dip compared to the previous two academic sessions. The decline marks a shift in the performance trend, drawing attention to the changing dynamics of student outcomes across the state.

Performance Breakdown for 2026

A total of 2,76,640 regular students appeared for the examinations this year. Among them, 2,47,860 successfully cleared the tests. Notably, female students have once again outperformed their male counterparts. Out of 1,33,530 girls who appeared, 1,22,367 passed, achieving a pass rate of 91.64%. In comparison, 1,25,493 boys out of 1,43,110 cleared the exams, recording a pass percentage of 87.69%.

Comparative Analysis of the Last Three Years

The current year’s results show a clear downward trajectory when stacked against recent history. In 2025, the overall pass percentage was a robust 92.49%, with girls achieving 94.06% and boys securing 91.07%. The year prior, 2024, saw even stronger numbers, with a total pass percentage of 95.22%. In that session, the gender-wise split was 96.32% for girls and 94.22% for boys.

Further details from the 2024 results highlighted a significant gap between school categories. Private institutions recorded an impressive pass rate of 97.80%, while government schools trailed with 93.19%. At the district level, Panchkula emerged as the top performer, while Nuh registered the lowest performance.

Institutional and Regional Highlights

The disparity between private and public schooling outcomes remains a talking point. The consistent lead of private schools suggests differences in resources, infrastructure, and instructional quality. Meanwhile, the district-wise variance points to regional challenges that may require targeted policy interventions to bridge the educational divide.

Success Story: A Farmer’s Daughter Shines

Amid the broader statistics, individual achievements stand out. Manasi, a student from Deban village in Kaithal district, secured the third rank statewide in the Class 10 examinations. The daughter of a farmer, she scored an impressive 497 marks out of 500, bringing pride to her family and her district.

Manasi aspires to become a doctor. Sharing her preparation strategy, she revealed that she completely avoided social media and mobile phones during her exam preparation. Her disciplined routine included approximately eight hours of focused study each day. She also adhered to a structured timetable designed with her teachers’ guidance to tackle challenging subjects. Beyond academics, she devoted at least three hours daily to self-study and actively assisted her mother with household chores, demonstrating a balanced approach to her responsibilities.

Steps to Access the Results

Students eager to check their scores can follow a straightforward process on the board’s official website. Begin by visiting the designated portal for result publication. On the homepage, locate and select the link corresponding to the Class 10 results. Next, enter the required credentials, including the roll number and date of birth. After submitting this information, the result will appear on the screen. It is advisable to download and print a copy for future reference.

The release of these results brings clarity to students and families across the state. While the overall numbers reflect a slight decline, the resilience and hard work of top performers like Manasi offer inspiration. As the board and schools analyze this year’s outcomes, the focus will likely shift toward addressing the factors contributing to the downward trend and reinforcing strategies that elevate student achievement across all segments.
