Meta has officially launched its Instagram Plus subscription in India, offering a suite of enhanced features for a monthly fee. Priced at ₹299, this optional plan is designed for users who want more control over their Stories, profile customization, and exclusive interaction tools. Those who prefer the standard free version can continue using Instagram without any changes.
Enhanced Story Controls
The subscription places a strong emphasis on improving the Story experience. Subscribers gain access to several new capabilities that provide deeper insights and greater flexibility.
Viewing Insights and Audience Segmentation
With Instagram Plus, users can see exactly how many times their Story has been rewatched. Beyond the standard Close Friends list, subscribers can create multiple custom audience groups, allowing them to share Stories with specific sets of people.
Private Previews and Extended Duration
One notable feature is the ability to preview a Story without appearing in the viewer list. Additionally, the standard 24-hour expiration window can be extended to 48 hours, giving content more time to be seen.
Advanced Analytics
Story analytics have been upgraded as well. Subscribers can now search for specific individuals within their viewer list to check whether that person has seen a particular Story.
Profile and Customization Options
Instagram Plus allows users to personalize their profiles in ways previously unavailable. The subscription introduces several visual and functional upgrades.
Pinned Posts and Exclusive Fonts
Users can pin up to six posts to the top of their profile, ensuring their most important or favorite content is immediately visible. A selection of exclusive fonts for both the profile and bio section is also included.
Custom App Icons and Animated Reactions
Subscribers will have access to custom app icons designed by Meta and popular creators. In direct messages, animated super heart reactions add a lively, interactive element to conversations, appearing on screen during chats.
Feed-Free Posting
A unique feature of Instagram Plus is the ability to post content directly to a profile and Highlights without it appearing in followers’ main feeds. This is particularly useful for users who want to keep their profile updated without broadcasting every post to their entire audience.
How to Subscribe to Instagram Plus
If the option is available on your account, subscribing is straightforward through the Instagram app.
- Update the Instagram app to the latest version.
- Navigate to your profile page.
- Tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top corner.
- Go to the Settings section.
- Look for the Instagram Plus option.
- Review the features and pricing, then tap to proceed.
- Complete the payment through Google Play or the Apple App Store.
