IRCTC Launches Affordable Panch Mahatirth Pilgrimage Tour for August and September

For those who have long dreamed of embarking on a spiritual journey across India’s most revered pilgrimage sites but have been held back by time constraints and budget concerns, a new opportunity has emerged. The tourism arm of Indian Railways, IRCTC, has introduced a specially curated religious tour package that allows devotees to visit several major temples and holy destinations without straining their finances. Scheduled for operation during August and September, this pilgrimage combines deep religious significance, comfortable travel, and cost-effectiveness in a single offering.

The standout feature of this tour is the all-inclusive nature of the package. Travelers do not need to worry about booking train tickets, arranging hotel stays, organizing meals, or coordinating local transport separately. Everything—including the services of a dedicated tour manager—is bundled together. This makes the journey particularly appealing for families, senior citizens, and anyone who prefers a hassle-free travel experience. The package is designed for devotees who wish to cover multiple sacred locations within a limited timeframe.

Throughout the journey, participants will have the chance to visit sites associated with Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu, and Goddess Shakti, making it a spiritually enriching experience. The tour is quickly gaining popularity among those who value religious tourism and seek convenience alongside devotion. Below is a detailed breakdown of the itinerary, costs, amenities, and booking details for this special Panch Mahatirth pilgrimage.

What Is the IRCTC Panch Mahatirth Pilgrimage Tour?

This religious tour is being organized under the Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train initiative by IRCTC. It covers several of India’s most famous pilgrimage destinations and Jyotirlingas. The package includes train travel, accommodation, meals, and local sightseeing, all managed under a single booking. This eliminates the need for separate reservations and ensures a smooth, well-coordinated journey for all participants.

Duration and Schedule of the Journey

The pilgrimage spans approximately 12 nights and 13 days. Special departure dates have been scheduled for late August and September. The tour begins on August 29, 2026, and concludes on September 10, 2026. This timing allows travelers to experience the sacred sites during a period that is often considered favorable for spiritual travel in India.

Which Pilgrimage Sites Are Included?

Devotees on this tour will visit five major holy locations: Jagannath Puri, Kamakhya, Gaya, Kashi (Varanasi), and Ayodhya. The Bharat Gaurav special train departs from Rajkot and passes through several stations, including Surendranagar, Viramgam, Sabarmati Junction, Nadiad, Anand, Chhayapuri, Godhra, Dahod, Ratlam, Ujjain, and Sant Hirdaram Nagar. Passengers can board the train from any of these stations along the route.

  • Jagannath Puri, Odisha: Upon reaching Puri, pilgrims will visit the iconic Jagannath Temple. The itinerary also includes time to explore Puri Beach and the local markets. Additionally, the tour offers visits to the world-famous Konark Sun Temple and the Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar.
  • Kamakhya Temple, Assam: From Odisha, the train proceeds to Guwahati in Assam. Here, devotees can offer prayers at the Kamakhya Temple, a prominent Shakti Peeth. Ample time is allocated for darshan and participation in religious rituals.
  • Gaya, Bihar: The journey continues to Gaya and Bodh Gaya in Bihar. Pilgrims will visit the Mahabodhi Temple, the Great Buddha Statue, the Vishnupad Temple, and the Maa Sarvamangala Gauri Shakti Peeth.
  • Varanasi and Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh: From Bihar, the train moves to Varanasi, where devotees can visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and the Annapurna Temple. There will also be time to spend at the Ganga ghats. The tour then proceeds to Ayodhya for darshan at the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple and Hanuman Garhi.

Package Pricing and Fare Details
