JEE Advanced 2026: Arohi Deshpande Crowned Female Topper with 280 Marks

The Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) 2026 results were officially announced on Monday, bringing with them a wave of celebrations and notable achievements. While Shubham Kumar from the Delhi zone clinched the coveted All India Rank 1 with an impressive 330 marks out of 360, the spotlight also shines brightly on Arohi Deshpande, who has emerged as the top-performing female candidate in the country.

Arohi Deshpande, also from the IIT Delhi zone, secured an outstanding Common Rank List (CRL) of 77, scoring 280 out of 360 marks. Her remarkable performance not only places her among the nation’s elite engineering aspirants but also sets a new benchmark for female candidates in this year’s examination.

Over 56,000 Candidates Clear the Examination

This year’s JEE Advanced witnessed a total of 56,880 successful candidates. Breaking down the numbers, 10,107 female candidates and 46,773 male candidates have qualified for admission to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and other premier engineering institutions across the country.

In a noteworthy observation, one third-gender candidate who appeared for the examination did not qualify. Additionally, under the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category, 3,052 candidates had registered, of which 2,864 appeared for both papers. From this group, 887 candidates were declared successful.

Top Rankers and Their Journey

Following closely behind Shubham Kumar, Kabir Chhillar secured the second position with 329 marks, while Jatin Chahar claimed the third spot with 319 marks. Expressing his elation, Shubham Kumar shared insights into his preparation journey, stating that he had been diligently preparing for the JEE Advanced over the past two years. He conveyed his happiness at achieving the top rank, noting that his hard work had finally paid off.

Participation and Attendance Figures

According to data released by IIT Roorkee, which conducted the examination this year, a total of 1,87,389 candidates registered for JEE (Advanced) 2026. Of these, 1,79,694 candidates actually appeared for both papers held on May 17.

Zone-Wise Performance Breakdown

An analysis of the results across different zones reveals that the IIT Madras zone recorded the highest number of successful candidates, with 14,294 students qualifying. The IIT Bombay zone followed closely with 12,389 successful candidates, while the IIT Delhi zone saw 10,697 candidates clearing the examination.

Result Access and Final Answer Key

Candidates can now view their results on the official JEE Advanced website. The final answer key has also been released on Monday, allowing students to verify their responses and cross-check their calculated scores. The JEE Advanced examination serves as the primary gateway for undergraduate admissions into the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and various other leading engineering colleges throughout the nation.
