MHT CET PCM 2026 Phase 1 Begins Tomorrow: Over 4.79 Lakh Candidates Set to Appear

The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell is all set to commence the Phase 1 examination for MHT CET PCM 2026 from tomorrow, April 11. The test will continue until April 20, with examination centers established across 198 locations spread over 36 districts in the state. As per the official instructions issued by the board, candidates must arrive at their designated centers strictly according to the time mentioned on their admit cards. Carrying the required documents is equally mandatory for entry into the examination hall.

Candidate Registration Numbers

A substantial number of aspirants have registered for the MHT CET PCM 2026 this year. The breakdown of candidate participation is as follows:

  • Phase 1 participants: 4,79,332 students
  • Phase 2 participants: Approximately 2.96 lakh students
  • Total candidates across both phases: 7,75,885

This year has witnessed a notable increase of 15,070 candidates compared to the previous academic cycle, reflecting the growing interest in engineering and technology programs offered across Maharashtra.

Phase 2 Examination Schedule

The Phase 2 examination is scheduled to be conducted between May 14 and May 16, 2026. While appearing for Phase 1 is compulsory for all registered candidates, participation in Phase 2 remains optional. This flexibility allows students to attempt the examination twice, giving them an opportunity to improve their scores if they wish to do so.

Exam Pattern and Duration

The MHT CET 2026 examination will span a total duration of 180 minutes, divided into two distinct sections. The first 90 minutes are dedicated to Physics and Chemistry, followed by a 90-minute segment for Mathematics. Once the first section concludes, it will be automatically submitted, and the Mathematics section will commence immediately. In cases where the examination is taken in Marathi or Urdu medium and a dispute arises regarding any question, the English version of the question paper will be considered final and authoritative.

Essential Exam Day Guidelines

Candidates must adhere to several important instructions on the day of the examination to ensure a smooth experience:

  • Reach the examination center at the exact time specified on the admit card
  • Entry will not be permitted once the gates are closed, so punctuality is critical
  • Photocopies or verified copies of documents will not be accepted for entry purposes
  • Candidates with disabilities must carry their disability certificate to avail scribe assistance or extra time
  • Biometric verification, including fingerprint scanning and photograph capture, will be conducted at the examination center

Documents to Carry

Students should ensure they have the following items ready before heading to the examination venue:

  • Printed admit card featuring the candidate’s photograph and signature
  • A valid original identification document
  • Disability certificate or UDID card, if applicable

Candidates are strongly advised to prepare all necessary documentation well in advance and arrive at the examination center ahead of time. This proactive approach will help avoid any last-minute complications and ensure a stress-free examination experience. Being organized and punctual on exam day can significantly reduce anxiety and allow students to focus their full attention on performing well in the test.
