Merit List and Toppers

The merit list for the MP Board High School Examination 2026 includes a total of 378 students, with girls dominating the top ranks. The list features 235 female students and 143 male students, highlighting the continued academic excellence of girls in the state.

Students who have secured positions in the merit list have demonstrated exceptional dedication and hard work throughout the academic year. Their achievement serves as an inspiration for future candidates appearing in board examinations.

Introduction of Second Chance Examination

In a significant policy shift aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the state government has decided to replace the traditional supplementary examination with a more flexible Second Chance Examination system. This new approach is designed to be more student-friendly and provides additional opportunities for those who could not clear the examinations in their first attempt.

The decision marks a progressive step towards creating a more inclusive and supportive examination framework. Students who have not passed this year will have the opportunity to appear for the Second Chance Examination, which is scheduled to be conducted in May 2026, as announced by the Chief Minister.

Key Statistics and Pass Percentage

This year, a total of 2,89,693 students have been declared unsuccessful in the examinations. However, in a notable development, no student has been placed in the supplementary category this year. This change is directly attributed to the implementation of the new Second Chance Examination policy under NEP 2020.

The introduction of this new system provides students with a fresh opportunity to improve their performance without the stigma traditionally associated with supplementary examinations. The flexible approach allows students to prepare better and appear for the examination at their convenience.

Important Points to Verify on Your Marksheet

After downloading the scorecard, students must carefully verify several details to ensure accuracy. Any discrepancies should be reported to the board authorities immediately for correction.

  • Verify the spelling of your name, parents’ names, and date of birth against your Aadhaar card or other official documents
  • Check that all subject names are correctly mentioned on the marksheet
  • Re-calculate the total marks obtained in each subject to ensure they match the overall total
  • Confirm your pass/fail status for each subject and the overall result

Students are encouraged to take a printout of their result and keep multiple copies for future academic and professional requirements. The scorecard serves as a crucial document for admission to higher secondary education and various competitive examinations.

Re-Examination Schedule

For students who have not cleared the examinations, the board has announced that re-examinations will be conducted in May 2026. This provides a relatively short waiting period for unsuccessful candidates, allowing them to quickly attempt the papers again and plan their academic future without significant delays.

The announcement of the re-examination schedule demonstrates the board’s commitment to ensuring that students do not lose an entire academic year due to examination setbacks. This student-centric approach is expected to benefit thousands of candidates across the state.

Students are advised to regularly check the official board website for updates regarding the Second Chance Examination schedule, admit card release, and other important announcements. Proper preparation and timely submission of any required documentation will ensure a smooth examination process for all candidates.
