Exam Date and Format
The NEET UG 2026 examination is scheduled to take place on 3 May 2026. The test will be conducted in the traditional pen-and-paper mode across 552 cities within India and 14 cities overseas. Candidates will have a three-hour window, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, to complete the paper.
Details Mentioned on the Admit Card
Each admit card contains essential information, including the candidate’s full name, roll number, exam date, reporting time, and other critical instructions. It is mandatory for all test-takers to carry a printed copy of the admit card to the examination centre, as entry will not be permitted without it.
Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme
The question paper will consist of 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) worth a total of 720 marks. The subject-wise distribution is as follows:
- Physics: 45 questions
- Chemistry: 45 questions
- Biology (Botany and Zoology combined): 90 questions
For every correct answer, candidates will be awarded 4 marks, while each incorrect response will result in a deduction of 1 mark. This negative marking scheme makes accuracy as important as speed.
