NEET UG 2026 Correction Window Now Open

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has activated the correction window for candidates who submitted applications for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate programs (NEET UG 2026). Students who have already registered can now visit the official portal and make necessary adjustments to their submitted application forms.

According to the exam authority, applicants have until March 14, 2026, to complete any modifications. This editing facility can be used only once, so candidates are strongly advised to review and finalize all changes carefully before submitting them.

Exam Schedule and Format

As per the official timeline released by the NTA, the NEET UG 2026 examination is scheduled to take place on May 3, 2026. The test will be conducted in offline mode, using the traditional pen-and-paper format. The examination duration is fixed from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on the day of the test.

Fee-Related Guidelines

The testing agency has issued important clarifications regarding application fees during the correction period. Any modification made to the application form will only be considered valid after the payment of applicable additional charges. If the changes made by a candidate result in a higher application fee category, the difference must be paid to complete the correction process.

Conversely, the NTA has also stated that if a candidate has already paid more than the required amount, the excess fee will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Editable Fields in the Application

Candidates are permitted to make changes to a specific set of details in their application. The following categories and fields are open for modification:

Parent Information

  • Father’s name, educational qualification, and occupation
  • Mother’s name, educational qualification, and occupation

Note: Changes can be made to either the father’s details or the mother’s details, but not both simultaneously.

  • Educational qualifications related to Class 10 and Class 12
  • The state or union territory from which the candidate completed Class 12 or is appearing for the board examination

Reservation and Category Information

  • Category classification
  • Additional category details
  • Sub-category or Persons with Disabilities (PwD) status

Examination Preferences

  • Preferred exam city selection
  • Language or medium of the examination

Other Modifiable Details

  • Number of attempts in NEET (UG)
  • Signature upload

Identity Information

Changes to identification details are allowed only for those candidates who registered using an identity document other than Aadhaar. Applicants who used alternative identification proofs can update their identity-related information during this window.

Important Advice for Candidates

The NTA has urged all applicants to thoroughly verify every piece of information in their application forms before the correction window closes. Since the editing facility is available only once, candidates should take adequate time to review their entries and ensure that all modifications are accurate and complete. Missing the deadline or making careless errors could lead to complications in the admission process, so timely and careful action is essential.
