NIFTEE 2026 Stage-I Results Announced: Check Your Scorecard and Stage-II Shortlist Status
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the Stage-I results for the National Institute of Fashion Technology Entrance Examination (NIFTEE) 2026. Candidates who appeared for the exam can now access their scorecards and check whether they have been shortlisted for the next phase of the selection process.
This year, the Stage-I examination was conducted on February 8, 2026, across 129 test centers located in 97 cities throughout the country. The exam was offered in both Hindi and English mediums, with different papers administered either as computer-based tests (CBT) or pen-and-paper tests (PBT), depending on the specific course requirements.
Courses Covered Under NIFTEE 2026
The entrance examination serves as the gateway for admission to several undergraduate and postgraduate programs at NIFT for the academic session 2026-27. These include:
- Bachelor of Design (B.Des.)
- Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B.F.Tech.)
- Master of Design (M.Des.)
- Master of Fashion Management (M.F.M.)
- Master of Fashion Technology (M.F.Tech.)
- Lateral entry programs for both B.Des. and B.F.Tech.
It is important to note that the B.F.Tech. program does not involve a Stage-II examination. Consequently, the final results for this particular course will be declared separately by the conducting authority.
Stage-II Shortlisting Criteria
The selection of candidates for Stage-II has been carried out based on their performance in the Stage-I examination. The next phase of the admission process involves multiple assessment components, including a situation test, a studio test, and a personal interview, depending on the course applied for.
Under the current selection framework, candidates have been shortlisted in a ratio of 1:4—meaning four applicants have been considered for every available seat. Additionally, for candidates belonging to the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category, a minimum score equivalent to 50% of their respective category’s cut-off is mandatory to qualify for the next stage.
How to Check Your Result Status
Results have been published online, and each candidate’s status is now visible on the official NTA portal. The information displayed varies according to the program:
- For B.Des. applicants, the status indicates whether they have been selected or not selected for the situation test.
- For M.Des., M.F.M., and M.F.Tech. applicants, the status reflects selection or non-selection for the interview round.
- For lateral entry courses, the status covers selection for the studio test, technical ability test, and interview.
To download the result, candidates need to visit the official website and log in using their application number and password credentials.
Upcoming Stage-II Schedule
While the exact dates for the Stage-II examinations have not yet been finalized, the NTA has confirmed that the schedule will be published on the official website shortly. Candidates are advised to regularly check the portal for updates regarding test dates, venue details, and other relevant instructions.
Important Notes for Candidates
During the examination, two candidates had their candidature cancelled due to the use of unfair means (UFM). This serves as a reminder that all applicants must adhere strictly to the examination guidelines and code of conduct.
In case any candidate encounters difficulties while downloading their result or accessing their scorecard, assistance is available through the NTA helpline. Candidates can reach out to the support team by phone at 011-40759000 or send an email to the official helpdesk address for prompt resolution of their queries.
All shortlisted candidates are encouraged to begin preparing for the upcoming Stage-II assessments, as these evaluations are designed to test creative thinking, problem-solving abilities, and communication skills—all of which are essential attributes for a successful career in the fashion industry.
