OTET 2026 Admit Card Released by BSE Odisha

Candidates preparing for the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) 2026 now have access to their hall tickets. The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, has officially released the admit cards for the upcoming examination. Registered candidates can log in to the official portal using their registration number along with their password or date of birth to download their hall tickets.

Officials strongly recommend that candidates download and print their admit cards well ahead of the exam date. Entry to the examination hall will be strictly restricted to those carrying a valid admit card, so it is essential to have a printed copy ready.

Revised Examination Schedule

The board has also updated the exam timeline. Originally scheduled for 21 June 2026, the OTET will now be conducted on 28 June 2026. The revised schedule for both papers is as follows:

  • Paper-I: 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM
  • Paper-II: 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM

Understanding the Paper Structure

OTET 2026 comprises two separate papers, each designed for a specific teaching level:

  • Paper-I: Intended for candidates who wish to teach students in Classes 1 through 5.
  • Paper-II: Meant for those aspiring to teach Classes 6 through 8.

Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme

Each paper of the OTET 2026 will consist of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), with each question carrying one mark. The total marks for each paper are 150, and the duration of the exam is 2 hours and 30 minutes. The question paper will be available in both Odia and English.

Importantly, the board has confirmed that there is no negative marking for incorrect answers. This allows candidates to attempt all questions without the fear of losing marks for wrong responses.

Minimum Qualifying Marks

To successfully clear the OTET 2026, candidates must secure the minimum qualifying marks as specified by the board. The cut-off marks vary by category:

  • General Category: 90 marks (60%)
  • SC, ST, OBC, and PH Candidates: 82 marks (55%)

Important Instructions for Exam Day

Candidates must carry a printed copy of their admit card to the examination centre. Without a valid hall ticket, entry will be denied. It is also advisable to verify all personal details printed on the admit card, including name, photograph, signature, exam centre location, and reporting time. Any discrepancies should be reported to the board immediately.
