The Significance of Papmochani Ekadashi in 2026

Papmochani Ekadashi, observed during the Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) of the Chaitra month, holds a unique place among the 24 Ekadashi fasts observed throughout the Hindu calendar year. This particular Ekadashi is considered exceptionally powerful, as it marks the final Ekadashi of the Vikram Samvat year, making it a spiritually significant occasion. The Bhavishyottara Purana elaborates on its importance, emphasizing that observing this fast can absolve one from sins and bring relief from all forms of suffering. Devotees worship Lord Vishnu in his four-armed form, seeking his blessings for a prosperous and harmonious household.
