PM-YUVA 3.0 Results Announced: 43 Young Authors Selected Across 22 Indian Languages
The Ministry of Education, through the National Book Trust of India, has officially declared the results for the third phase of the Pradhan Mantri Yuva Yojana (PM-YUVA), a flagship mentorship programme designed to nurture emerging literary talent. This year, 43 aspiring authors under the age of 30 have been shortlisted from across the country, marking a significant milestone in India’s efforts to cultivate a new generation of writers.
The complete list of successful candidates is now accessible on the official NBT-India website. The primary objective of this initiative is to identify promising young voices, provide them with structured training in writing and editing, and offer financial backing to help them bring their book projects to life. By bridging the gap between raw talent and professional publishing, the scheme aims to strengthen the country’s literary ecosystem.
Diverse Talent Recognised Nationwide
In this latest phase, the selection process drew submissions in 22 officially recognised Indian languages along with English. The chosen authors represent a wide linguistic spectrum, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, Urdu, and Sanskrit, among others. This diversity underscores the programme’s commitment to promoting regional literature and ensuring that voices from every corner of India receive due recognition.
Among the 43 selected writers, there is a notable balance, with 19 women and 24 men making the cut. Their book proposals were evaluated on originality, literary merit, and the potential to contribute meaningfully to Indian literature. The selection reflects a broad range of themes and genres, promising a rich and varied collection of forthcoming works.
Monthly Scholarship and Mentorship Support
Each selected author will receive a monthly scholarship of ₹50,000 throughout the programme duration. Over a six-month period, these writers will work closely with distinguished scholars and literary mentors who will guide them through the nuances of writing techniques, research methodologies, and the editing process. This hands-on mentorship is designed to refine their manuscripts to a publishable standard.
In addition to the monthly stipend, the authors will earn a lifetime royalty of 10 percent on every copy of their published book. This long-term incentive not only rewards their creative effort but also provides a sustainable income stream, encouraging them to continue writing beyond this initial project.
National Camp and Publication Plans
As part of the programme’s next phase, a national residential camp is scheduled to take place from January 10 to 18, 2026, coinciding with the New Delhi World Book Fair. This gathering will offer the young authors a unique platform to interact, share ideas, and learn from one another’s experiences. The camp is intended to foster a collaborative spirit and build a supportive community among the participants.
Following the mentorship and camp, the first volume of books produced under this scheme is slated for publication in the coming year. By investing in these young writers today, the initiative seeks to create a lasting impact on India’s literary landscape, both at home and on the international stage. It represents a forward-looking step toward ensuring that Indian literature continues to evolve, flourish, and gain global recognition.
