Republic Day Tableau Showcases NEP 2020 and PM SHRI Schools as Foundation of Viksit Bharat 2047

The Department of School Education and Literacy presented a striking tableau during the Republic Day parade, illustrating India’s educational journey from its ancient wisdom traditions to a future-ready learning framework. The display positioned school education as a cornerstone in the nation’s vision for Viksit Bharat 2047, highlighting the transformative impact of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

A Journey From Timeless Knowledge to Future-Ready Learning

The tableau’s narrative began with India’s rich heritage of knowledge and seamlessly transitioned toward a modern, forward-looking education system. At the heart of this visual story stood the entrance of a PM SHRI school, serving as the central symbol connecting the past with the possibilities of tomorrow.

The front section featured a statue of the ancient mathematician and astronomer Aryabhata, with smiling children holding a representation of the concept of zero and a globe. This imagery celebrated India’s historic contributions to global knowledge and symbolized the passing of that legacy to younger generations.

Behind the children, stylized wings represented NEP 2020, signifying how the policy fosters self-reliance, confidence, opportunity, and global readiness among learners. Young students wearing VR headsets brought the theme of “ancient roots, digital wings” to life, demonstrating how technology can complement tradition.

Another highlight was the “magic box” concept, which promoted joyful, play-based foundational learning in mother tongues. This section showcased Indian toys and multilingual materials, emphasizing an engaging and culturally rooted approach to early education.

At the PM SHRI school gate, children were depicted planting saplings, reinforcing messages of inclusive education, environmental consciousness, and the spirit of Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment).

Emphasizing Skill Development and Holistic Growth

The tableau also underscored the importance of skill-based learning from an early age. One segment showed a student with tools, illustrating hands-on vocational training. The middle portion integrated martial arts, performing arts, and sports into the educational framework, conveying a strong message about holistic development.

A robotic arm symbolized the fusion of tradition and technology—a visual metaphor for the journey from the traditional wooden writing board, or takhti, to the modern tablet, all guided by enduring values.

Looking Toward Viksit Bharat 2047

The display culminated in a tower representing Viksit Bharat 2047, featuring smart classrooms, tinkering labs, and innovation hubs. Symbols such as books, gears, and circuits conveyed the idea that PM SHRI schools embody the spirit of NEP 2020 in practice. These institutions aim to nurture skilled citizens, transcending barriers of region, gender, and ability.

Ultimately, the tableau portrayed NEP 2020 as a powerful catalyst—a rocket propelling India’s school education reforms forward. It painted a clear picture: by investing in today’s learners through innovative, inclusive, and value-driven education, India is building the foundation for a developed nation by 2047.
