SSC GD Constable Exam Disrupted at Multiple Centres, Rescheduled From May 27
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially cancelled the SSC GD Constable examination at several test centres following reports of severe overcrowding and administrative mismanagement. The decision was communicated through an official notice released on May 26, 2026, after candidates and staff raised concerns about the chaotic conditions at these venues.
According to available information, a significantly higher number of candidates than the designated capacity had been called to appear at these centres. This made it practically impossible to conduct the examination in a fair and controlled manner, prompting the Commission to step in and cancel the affected sessions.
Fresh Exam Dates Announced for Affected Candidates
Candidates whose SSC GD Constable exams were cancelled on May 25 and May 26 need not worry. The Central Region of the Staff Selection Commission has confirmed that the examination will now be conducted starting May 27, 2026. Several key updates have been issued for those impacted by the cancellations:
- Examinations at centres in Prayagraj, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, and several other locations have been affected. The overcrowding, which reached nearly double the permissible limit at some venues, forced authorities to postpone the concerned shifts immediately.
- Affected candidates must download their new admit cards from the official SSC website. The revised hall tickets will contain updated details, including the new examination centre, revised shift timings, and the rescheduled date.
- In addition to the overcrowding issue, the exam originally scheduled for May 28 has been moved up to May 27. This adjustment was made due to a revised official holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr.
- All candidates appearing at the new centres will be required to complete Aadhaar e-KYC as part of the security verification process.
The Commission has also urged candidates to remain vigilant against unofficial rumours circulating on social media platforms. For any updates regarding exam shifts, centre changes, or other important announcements, candidates are advised to rely solely on the information published on the official SSC portal.
