SSC MTS Exam 2026 Disrupted at Multiple Centres Across UP, Karnataka, Bihar, and Other States
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has cancelled the Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) examination scheduled for 11 February 2026 at several centres in Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar, and other regions. The decision was taken due to technical and administrative issues reported at these venues. Candidates who were due to appear at the affected centres are advised to note the revised schedule, as new dates have been announced for some locations while others await confirmation.
Which Centres Were Affected by the Cancellation?
According to the official notice released by the Commission, the morning shift of the examination was suspended at multiple centres across different regions. The cancellations were spread across the Central Region, Karnataka Region, and Eastern Region. Below is a breakdown of the affected cities and the number of centres impacted.
- Uttar Pradesh and Bihar (Central Region): Jhansi, Kanpur (2 centres), Lucknow (5 centres), Meerut (2 centres), Varanasi, Gorakhpur, and Patna.
- Karnataka (KKR Region): Kalaburagi and Mysuru, with a combined total of 4 centres.
- Eastern Region: Sambalpur, Gangtok, Ranchi (3 centres), Kolkata, Sri Vijaya Puram, Cuttack, Berhampur, Dhanbad, and Bhubaneswar.
Candidates who were assigned to these venues will not be able to sit for the exam on the originally scheduled date. The Commission has assured that the matter is being handled and that affected candidates will be accommodated in the upcoming re-examination.
Revised Dates Announced for Select Centres
For a limited number of centres, the SSC has already confirmed the new examination date. Candidates assigned to the following three venues will now appear for the MTS exam on 13 February 2026:
- Sanskara Academy Online Exam Centre, Jhansi
- Shifa Online Centre, Gorakhpur
- L.M. Public School Online Examination Centre, Jhansi
These candidates should treat the new date as final and make the necessary preparations accordingly. The exam timing and shift details for these centres will remain the same as originally communicated, unless stated otherwise in the revised admit card.

For all other centres where the examination was cancelled, the Commission has stated that fresh dates will be announced shortly. The SSC will publish the revised schedule on its official website.
