UGC NET December 2025 Results to Be Released on 4 February
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the date for releasing the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) December 2025 session results. According to the latest notification issued by the examination authority, candidates can expect their results on 4 February 2026.
The computer-based examination was conducted across multiple centres nationwide between 31 December 2025 and 7 January 2026. More than 7.35 lakh candidates appeared for the test, which covered a total of 85 subjects. The exam serves as a gateway for aspirants seeking eligibility for assistant professor positions, admission to PhD programmes, and the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) scheme.
Over 7.35 Lakh Candidates Appeared for the Exam
A total of 7,35,592 candidates registered and appeared for the December 2025 UGC NET examination. The NTA had previously released the provisional answer key on 15 January, allowing candidates to raise objections until 17 January. For each challenge raised, candidates were required to pay a fee of ₹200 per question, which was refundable if the objection was found valid.
The official results will be made available on the designated examination portal. Candidates are advised to keep their application credentials ready to access their scorecards without any inconvenience.
Minimum Qualifying Marks for UGC NET December 2025
To successfully clear the UGC NET examination, candidates must meet the minimum qualifying criteria set by the NTA. The passing marks vary according to the category of the candidate:
- General category: Candidates must secure at least 40% marks in each of the two papers.
- SC/ST categories: Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe categories need a minimum of 35% marks in each paper.
