UP Board Result 2026: Evaluation of Answer Sheets to Begin March 18

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has successfully concluded the High School (Class 10) and Intermediate (Class 12) board examinations for the year 2026. With the exams now behind them, students and their families are eagerly awaiting the announcement of results. The evaluation of answer sheets is scheduled to commence on March 18, setting the stage for the result preparation process to move forward swiftly.

Expected Timeline for Result Announcement

While the board has not yet confirmed an exact date for the release of results, preparations are moving at a steady pace. Based on previous patterns, the outcomes are anticipated to be announced in the final week of April 2026. For reference, the board released the results for both Class 10 and Class 12 on April 25, 2025, last year. Once the results are declared, students will be able to access their scorecards online through the official board website.

Answer Sheet Evaluation to Start March 18

According to available information, the evaluation of answer books will begin on March 18, 2026. To facilitate this large-scale operation, approximately 250 evaluation centers have been established across the state. This year, the board is introducing updated guidelines for the assessment process, which could potentially improve the chances of students passing the examinations.

Step Marking System to Benefit Students

A significant change this year is the implementation of a step marking system. Examiners have been instructed to adopt this approach while evaluating answer sheets. Under this system, if a student correctly writes the method or formula while solving a problem but makes a minor error in the final answer, they will still receive partial credit for the question.

For instance, if a question carries five marks and a student correctly completes three steps of the solution, they will be awarded three marks even if the final answer is incorrect. This approach is particularly advantageous for subjects like mathematics and science, where step-by-step reasoning is essential.

Lenient Evaluation Policy Adopted

The board has also directed evaluators to follow a lenient assessment policy this year. The objective is to maintain students’ confidence and ensure that small mistakes do not unfairly disadvantage them. Minor spelling errors and grammatical slips will only be penalized in language subjects such as Hindi and English. For non-language subjects, such errors will be overlooked during evaluation.

Large Team of Evaluators Deployed

A substantial number of teachers have been assigned to the evaluation process this year. In total, 1,53,530 educators will be involved in assessing the answer sheets across various roles.

The breakdown for High School (Class 10) is as follows:

  • 96,650 teachers in total
  • 83,800 examiners
  • 8,550 deputy chief examiners
  • 4,300 auditors

For Intermediate (Class 12), the allocation includes:

  • 56,880 teachers in total
  • 48,990 examiners
  • 5,300 deputy chief examiners
  • 2,590 auditors

How Students Can Check Their Results

Students will be able to view their UP Board results online once they are released. The process to access the scorecard is straightforward and can be completed through a few simple steps. Students should visit the official result page on the board’s designated web portal, select the UP Board option from the list of available boards, and then choose the appropriate link for their class, either Class 10 or Class 12. After entering the required details, the result will be displayed on the screen. It is advisable to download the result and keep a printed copy for future reference.

With the evaluation process set to begin shortly, the board is working diligently to ensure that results are prepared and announced in a timely manner. Students are advised to keep their admit cards and other necessary information handy for when the results are officially released.
