Vivo V70 Series Debuts in India with Zeiss Cameras and 6,500mAh Battery
Vivo has officially introduced its latest V70 series in the Indian market, comprising two models: the V70 and the V70 Elite. These smartphones are designed for users seeking premium camera capabilities and sophisticated design within the mid-range segment. The launch follows closely on the heels of the V60 series, which debuted just a few months prior.
Design and Build Quality
Both the V70 and V70 Elite share a nearly identical design language. Vivo has adopted a fresh square-style camera module on the rear, finished with a metallic sheen. The module prominently features Zeiss branding and incorporates the signature Aura Light for enhanced photography. The phones boast a flat aerospace-grade aluminum frame paired with a matte-finish glass back. Measuring under 7.6mm in thickness, both devices are also rated IP68 and IP69, ensuring robust resistance against water and dust ingress.
Display and Camera Specifications
The display on both models is identical: a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits. Vivo claims that the bezels are the thinnest in this segment, measuring just 0.125cm. An ultrasonic fingerprint scanner is integrated beneath the screen for secure unlocking.
On the camera front, the V70 series delivers a triple rear setup:
- 50MP primary sensor
- 50MP Sony IMX882 telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom
- 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens
For selfies, users get a 50MP front-facing camera. All lenses carry Zeiss branding, and video recording is supported up to 4K at 60fps. The camera app also includes AI-powered filters for creative flexibility.
Performance, Storage, and Battery
Performance differs between the two models. The V70 Elite is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, while the standard V70 runs on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset. Both devices come with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The Elite variant additionally features an X-axis linear motor, aimed at delivering a superior gaming experience.
Battery capacity is a standout feature: both phones pack a 6,500mAh unit that supports 90W fast charging. A compatible charger is included in the box.
Software and Longevity
Software-wise, the V70 series boots Android 16-based OriginOS 6. Vivo has committed to providing four years of major OS updates and six years of security patches, ensuring long-term usability.
