PM to Engage with Over 3,000 Young Leaders at Viksit Bharat Youth Dialogue

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to interact with more than 3,000 young participants from India and abroad during the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue, scheduled for January 12. The event, which will take place at Bharat Mandapam, marks the concluding session of the 2026 edition of this national initiative. The Prime Minister’s Office confirmed the details in an official statement released on Saturday.

National Youth Day Celebration and Event Highlights

The dialogue has been strategically scheduled to coincide with National Youth Day, observed annually on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. This timing underscores the government’s commitment to channeling the energy and ideas of young Indians toward nation-building. During the event, the Prime Minister will also release a compilation of essays contributed by participants, reflecting their perspectives on India’s developmental priorities and long-term vision for the country.

A Platform for Structured Youth Engagement

The Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue serves as a structured national platform designed to facilitate meaningful exchanges between the country’s youth and its leadership. Selected participants from the 2026 edition will present their final proposals to the Prime Minister across ten thematic tracks, offering actionable insights and youth-driven approaches to key areas of national importance.

According to the PMO, this initiative aligns with the Prime Minister’s Independence Day call to bring one lakh young individuals into the political mainstream without political affiliations, providing them with a national platform to realize their vision for a developed India.

Massive Participation and Rigorous Selection Process

The dialogue, running from January 9 to 12, has witnessed participation from over five lakh young people across various levels nationwide. The selection of youth leaders for the national competition was conducted through a stringent, merit-based three-stage process. This included a nationwide digital quiz, an essay competition, and state-level vision presentations, ensuring that only the most capable and insightful candidates advanced to the national stage.

Second Edition Brings Notable Innovations

Building on the success of its inaugural edition, the second iteration of the dialogue introduces several significant enhancements. These include new initiatives such as ‘Design for Bharat’ and ‘Tech for Viksit Bharat – Hack for a Social Cause,’ along with expanded thematic activities. For the first time, the event also features international participation, further broadening its scope and impact. These additions aim to deepen engagement and foster a more comprehensive exchange of ideas among the youth.

The event underscores the government’s focus on empowering the younger generation to contribute actively to policy discussions and national development strategies. By bringing together diverse voices from across the country and abroad, the dialogue seeks to harness fresh perspectives and innovative solutions for India’s growth trajectory.

As the nation observes Youth Day, this gathering represents a significant step toward integrating youth leadership into the mainstream developmental framework. The interactions and proposals emerging from this dialogue are expected to inform future policy directions and reinforce the role of young Indians in shaping the country’s destiny.
